When I first saw photos of the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle I thought they were fake, I kid you not. But upon doing more research, like the travel enthusiast that I am, I found out that it was indeed a real place. It is such a magical place. Just look for yourself, a picture says more than a 1,000 words.
There are 4 different types of accommodations, 3 types of tents and 1 lodge. I know what you think when you read the word tent, you expect a cheap piece of fabric held up by sticks. Well let me tell you that your definition of tents will be forever changed after visiting this place. Have you ever heard of glamping? It’s like camping… but with glam, you get it. This tents are made for glamping, they embrace nature without losing luxury.

Of course, this kind of luxury doesn’t come cheap. Prices for a 1 night stay start at $2,700 dlls per night. Yes, you read that right. But to be fair, they do include everything, and I mean everything.
Here’s a list of what’s included in the steep price:
- Mahout training and journey with the elephants, including bathing the elephants in the morning, once during your stay.
- Second elephant journey on a new route.
- Colours of Chiang Rai Tour (with visit to the Chinese Temple, White Temple, Singha Park and Golden Triangle View Point)
- One 90 minute spa treatment per person per stay
- A visit to the Hall of Opium
- Burma excursion (with transfers)
- Royal Legacy Tour: A visit to Doi Tung Royal Villa and Mae Fah Luang Garden
- Private cooking lesson once during your stay
- All meals and beverages, including house wines and spirits
- Full access to in-room refrigerated private bar
- Nightly sundowners at Burma Bar
- Nightly wine and cheese tasting at the Wine Cellar
- Internet access in tents and public areas
- Private round-trip transfers between Chiang Rai International Airport and the Tented Camp
So as you can see, their packages do include everything, even excursions outside of the camp, which most hotels don’t offer or charge extra for them.
