3 days in London Itinerary

London is one of my favorite cities in the entire world. Not that I know a lot of cities, but still, it’s gotta count for something. I just love how cool (weather wise) it is, how clean the streets are and basically just how polite and nice every person you encounter is. I’ve only been to London twice in my life, but I’ve had a very pleasant experience both times.

The first time I visited London was during a student trip in high school, so I wasn’t really prepared nor had I looked up what places to visit. My friends and I just winged it and went with the flow. My second time in London was 2 years later with my family, and this time we did tons and tons of research. So I’m pretty familiar with locations in London and the best places to visit during each day depending on their location. With this itinerary, you’ll be able to get a feeling of how great London is and maximize your time while you’re at it.

So without further do, here is my 3 day London itinerary:

Day 1

9:00 a.m. Arrive at Heathrow airport (where most international flights arrive)

11:00 a.m. Arrive at your hotel

11:30 a.m. Explore Oxford Street (Visit Hamley’s a gigant Toy Store)

1:00 p.m. Find a spot to eat in Oxford Street

3:00 p.m. Visit Westminster Abbey

4:30 p.m. Go see the Big Ben & Houses of Parliament

5:30 p.m. Head over to the London Eye and go on a ride if you wish ( I haven’t done this yet, because I’m claustrophobic and the line to get tickets was very long, so if you plan on doing this, I suggest getting your tickets beforehand)

7:30 p.m. Have dinner (fish & chips) in one of the restaurants near the London Eye

Day 2

9:00 a.m. Have breakfast in your hotel room

10:00 a.m. Head to the Horse Guards Parade in St. James, this one is much less crowded than the one in front of the Buckingham Palace and you get to see the same thing, with less people around.

10:30 a.m. Follow the Horse Guards Parade all the way to the Buckingham Palace

10:45 a.m. Explore the area around Buckingham Palace (St. James’ Park is beautiful)

1:00 p.m. Head over to Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus to find a spot to eat, passing Trafalgar Square

2:30 p.m. Head to Leicester Square, where you can visit M&M’s World London and explore Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus

5:00 p.m. If you’re a football fan you’ll probably want to visit one or two stadiums, so head over to the Chelsea stadium, book a tour and don’t skip the shop.

Day 3

9:00 a.m. Have breakfast at your hotel

10:00 a.m. Go to the famous Tower Bridge

10:30 a.m. Explore the area around Tower Bridge and buy tickets for the Tower of London

11:00 a.m. Explore the Tower of London and visit the Crown Jewels

1:00 p.m. Find a spot to eat near the Tower of London

3:00 p.m. Visit St. Paul’s Cathedral

3:45 p.m. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, near the Cathedral you’ll find Millenium Bridge, where they filmed a sequence during the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince film in which the bridge was torn in two

4:00 p.m. Continuing with the football tour, head over to the Emirates Stadium (Home of the Arsenal). It is the greatest stadium I’ve visited, and don’t forget to visit the shop.

6:00 p.m. After your stadium tour, head to King’s Cross, where you’ll find a Harry Potter store and the famous 9 and 3/4 platform.

*If you’re not a football fan, instad of going to the stadiums, go to the British Museum, they have a vast collection of masterpieces, which I know you’ll thoroughly enjoy. And the other day go to Regent’s Park, it is a very big park with lots of things to do. The best part…both of these things are free!
